Teton Yarn Company Hand Dyed Glacier Sock Yarn, a durable but soft, 3 ply Superwash Merino/Yak/Nylon Sock Yarn with generous yardage with the right amount of twist to hold up to socks but soft enough to wear next to the skin for a variety of projects such as shawls, shawlettes, baby blankets, wraps, gloves and hats.

Glacier Sock blends 20% Yak fibers with 70% Superwash Merino and 10% Nylon. Glacier Sock is not a white or ecru yarn, as our other undyed yarns are. The dark Yak fiber affects the color of the raw fibers here, and lends depth to colors.

Care: We recommend hand-washing of all knitted garments made with such an exquisite yarn, and laying flat to day.

Dyeing: Teton Yarn Company uses color fast acid dyes on all our yarns. My yarns are all hand dyed by me in my yarn studio in Teton Valley, Idaho. Yarns are dyed in groups of 3 in most cases and I do my best to ensure consistency in each batch, however, there will be some variation even within a dye lot. Different dye lots will be siblings, rather than twins, so it is recommended you order enough for a project in one order for best results.
