Cormo, a careful cross of Saxon Superfine Saxon Merino Ewes to Corriedale Rams, creates a fiber that is as fine as Merino but with longer staple length and crimp of Corriedale. Soft enough for next-to-the-skin wear but more durable and less resistant to pilling as some of the finer wools.
Our Cormo is from Apple Rose Farm, breeding champion Cormo sheep in New York State. Their Cormo is process into beautiful pencil roving that is perfect for beginning and experience spinners alike. As this is farm raised and processed by a local mill, there is a tiny amounts of veggie material in the roving. With the pencil roving, we twisted the long fiber into hanks instead of the traditional braids for ease of spinning.
